To claim victory in the men’s Volleyball Nations League for the first time, France triumphed in a nail-biting five-set match against the United States. Poland won the bronze medal after defeating the competition’s hosts, Italy.

Champions of the Tokyo 2020 games On Sunday in Bologna, Italy, France won their first men’s Volleyball Nations League title after defeating the United States 3-2 (25-16, 25-19, 15-25, 21-25, 15-10). This victory gave France their first ever trophy in the competition (24 July).

The United States of America were forced to settle with a second silver medal at the conclusion of the competition. Poland emerged victorious over Italy to take home the bronze medal.

Earvin Ngapeth, a star outside hitter for the French team, scored 22 points throughout the match. His performance was well worth the weight of gold. He finished the competition with 174 points, which was enough to earn him the title of Most Valuable Player.

The United States of America made a strong comeback in the third and fourth sets to get back into the match after falling behind by two sets to France.

In the fourth set of the contest, the competition was fairly situated, with the United States enjoying a tiny advantage over their French counterparts before leveling the scores to set up an exciting fifth-set thriller. However, the United States ultimately lost the match.

The French team jumped out to an early lead in the fifth set, leading the Americans by as much as six points before eventually winning the game and claiming the championship.

“We have a lot of fun when we’re all on the court together. According to the French setter Antoine Brizard, who spoke to Volleyballworld, “I think you can see that.”

“We are quite connected to each other outside of the court, and that is the most important thing. When we begin to experiment with this level of energy and chemistry, it will be difficult to pull us back.

Benjamin Toniutti and Ngapeth were just two of the important members of the French squad that contributed to their success at the Tokyo Olympics, when they won the gold medal.
